Jodi

Jodi stated that she had 6 triangles so she is going to use 5 to calculate... 5 x 6 stickers = 30 and then add 9 stickers for the first triangle that she has not yet calculated.  Jodi found this patterning activity easy to complete.

Jodi is able to read most times on analogue and digital clocks.  She seems to understand am and pm.  She is able to draw her own clock and identify the time.  She can solve time problems by using a number line to help her work out time differences new times.

Jodi, Keira, Jessica and Chonelle worked together to work out what food they have in their fridges.  Firstly they made a strip graph and then made statements about this graph.  They made a connection to fractions (because there was 4 in their group) and made statements like "3/4 people in the group like carrots".  After that they measured their strip graph into a circle and transformed this into a pie graph.  The size of the strips (i.e. carrots) helped them to measure their slice of pie.  They made more statements about their information off the pie graph and found that they were learning and seeing new things.  To finish they made a very good computer graph.

Keira and Jodi worked together to successfully build 2 different 3D polyhedrons.  They were able to identify how many angles, vertices (corners), edges and faces each of their shapes had.  Great geometry work!

Jodi found this geometrical learning quite easy.  As you can see she was able to easily design a reflective symmetrical shape and complete a bird tessellating pattern.  She designed the bird template herself and was able to slot it together to tessellate.  Great learning Jodi!

Jodi and Ben made this 3D geometrical city model.  They firstly made a 2D plan.  The were able to build a range of different 3D shapes (cylinders, pyramids, rectangular prisms etc) and include some simple tessellation and symmetry.  They worked extremely well together with very little teacher input.  As you can see they wanted to create a 3D Egyptian town which was different to everybody else.  Well done Jodi and Ben, this is very authentic.

Keira and Jodi worked well together to make an Earthquake and Tsunami power-point.  They researched their topic, made a plan and then went on to devise their power-point.  They presented it well to the class.  Great job girls!

5/7/16 Here is a video of Jodi on her points.. Well done Jodi!
